Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Michael Gorte grew up on a dairy farm just south of Manitowoc, WI in an area known as Newtonburg.  He attended Lutheran Grade School and Lutheran High School in Manitowoc.  He is a graduate of Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI.  Pastor Gorte has served mostly rural congregations and schools in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin for over 25 years in Pastoral Ministry.

Pastor Gorte loves his family, his wife Rebecca of 25 years, his daughters, Alyssa, Rachel, and Hannah.  Though you will also hear plenty of passionate speeches about his beloved Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers.  He likes to tinker with technology, enjoy light reading, and watch baseball.

Pastor Gorte is thrilled to be living in an area like rural Hartford.  “The family dairy farms, the rural roads, and the family atmosphere feel like home to me.”
